Newmont Gold Class Support

To celebrate 25 years of mining in the district, Newmont has commissioned a one-ounce gold coin made from Cadia gold.

The coins are being auctioned off for local charities and not-for-profits, and OP4P was one of the local organisations that successfully applied to have a coin auctioned on our behalf.

The coins were auctioned through Macquarie Auction Group commission-free, ensuring each organisation will receive the total amount paid for the coin. Bids close on 14th December, 2024 at 11am. Racing towards compassion! Further evidence of Newmont’s support was being nominated as their charity in the Lexus Melbourne Cup National Sweep.- to be in the race to receive a cash prize of $ 50,000 for the charity that drew the winning barrier. OP4P hoped the winning horse would jump from Barrier 24, the widest gate. No luck, but it was such a privilege to be chosen and a strong endorsement of our cause.

The trifecta of Newmont support … was the presentation of a cheque of money raised by staff in recognition of their much-loved colleague who lost her battle with breast cancer leaving young children. Newmont matched the donation dollar-for-dollar.

Together we can turn the glitter of gold into a brighter, more compassionate future!

STOP PRESS! ‘Our’coin was auctioned for $2491.10! Many Orange families will benefit from this generosity - Thank you Cadia Newmont! (29/12/2023)
