Western Local Health District Extends Palliative Care Trial to June

Funding has been made available to extend the three month trial, but the push continues to make the service permanent.

It has been announced by the Western NSW Local Health District that the palliative care trial at Uniting Parkwood would be extended until the end of June.

Scott McLachlan, the Local Health District Chief Executive, confirmed the additional funding, and added that the extra time would ensure there was adequate time to assess the evaluation of the trial. He added: β€œThe Western NSW Local Health District is committed to providing a service which is person-centred and supports families and carers of patients requiring palliative end of life care.”
